Bagged sweet packaging.

designs for bagged sweets, i decided to create a wrap around design rather than the simple tag which ties the sweetie bag together, which gives a larger design area.

For the sweet falvour, i made the writing look like a welcome home mat that you get infront of doors which works quite nicely with the gouse logo. Sweet shops don't usually include a lot of information about the sweets 'nutritional facts etc" and since these are homemade sweets there is no way to ensure the calorie intake and all that kind of information. therefore I won't be including that in my products. instead i chose to add a little information about the sweet and what it is. Which could help with the sales.
i created a different style border around the description for each of the flavours. Although I realise these borders are coming out of no where and doesn't really fit in with the stationary design and the logo. Also if i decide to run this idea across this packaging I may need to bring it across to other packaging designs to make them work as a set. Which could potentially end up looking a little messy. Less is more in this case.
i decided to use the line elements that i used in the stationary packaging instead to break up the information, which I think works a lot better and is easier and neater to run across to other packaging designs.
it already neatens up the designs when they are placed next to each other as a set.
Experimenting with leaving the background on the top white as well. This packaging design folds over on itself. therefore i think it may be better to have a different colour around the logo so that there isn't a horrible line which runs across the whit area.

Playing around more with the logo and the background. I dont like this design, the logo loses impact since its all one colour and some of the detail in between gets lost.
As a set i don't feel like its working that great either.

Some information about the sweet company is going to be placed on the back of the packaging design. Describing the home made idea of the company. i wanted to keep the hand drawn style throughout and therefore did so with the back side as well. Although i did trace an existing type face so that it would be legible enough. the tracing helped keep the hand drawn affect but also prevented it from looking too messy.

flat layout of the packaging.

Inserted all the writing for the description of each of the packaging designs. All in all i think this design could be really successful. It sticks to the contemporary feel I wanted to create. Creating quite a simple packaging design with all the elements wanted to include. House logo, hand drawn type, simple design with a little vintage inspiration.

Flat pack set. i need to change the colour of the background. I don't want them all to be the same and the egg shell colour looks a little bland and random. Especially since this is not a colour that I have run througout the logo or stationary.

Colour changes. this works a lot better. Although i am a little worried about changing the colour of the logo so much. the only design aspects bringing them together is the logo and the layout. but when I design the jars and boxes this could get a little lost. I also spent quite a while deciding on the shop logo colours which seems a little pointless if the colours keep changing. i may need to change this, but will move on with the colour and see if it does become a problem.

how the packaging will lokk folded. The yellow 'mat' design isn't working quite well. it needs to be changed to an actual yellow colour the brown looks a bit odd and may confuse people since its lemon flavoured which isn't being brough across as clearly as i would like.
i changed around the colour sin the logo and changed the mat. this looks a lot better. more obviously lemon flavoured.

Although i am happy with the designs so far, i want to try and see if i can introduce the hand drawn imagery, since i thought they were really nice and quite successful. i would like to try and use them in my packaging designs.

i tried inverting the colours and leaving the logo on a blank background. This isn't as strong as the previous design. And i also do quite like the rough house outline created with the white background to help make the logo stand out.

I don't feel like this is working either. the drawings look like they have been forced into the designs here.

so far this is the best version including the hand drawn images. Although I still think i prefer the plain design.
